The Great Gatsby movie has generated a huge interest in the 1920s. Sadly the film got the music all wrong!
The 20s was the jazz age. The music was hot and it was dance music.
The Charleston, the Blackbottom, The Shimmy.....
Here are two of the Jiveswing.com dancers demonstrating the Charleston.

The sensational John Petters Gatsby Five knows this music inside out and is without doubt the hottest and most exciting Gatsby style band on the scene today.
Using virtuose musicians, powered by the driving, charleston beat of the leader.

" England's finest Traditional Jazz Drummer."
The Stage
"John Petters is a solid and showy drummer..... and a humourous, fluent compere of the proceedings, as well as a useful singer"
