- John Petters
To coincide with the release of "Swing That Music" - Ben Holder / John Petters Swingband CD in November, we will be welcoming Ben back to the ARC (St John's Arts Centre, St John's Walk, Market St, Old Harlow, CM17 0AJ) on Saturday 26th January to open the new season.
Ben is a busy lad and this was the only date he had free until the Autumn, which coincided with our Harlow dates. Sadly Jim Douglas is playing elsewhere, so it won't be the exact line-up we used for the CD. I'm delighted, however to announce that the marvellous Tim Huskisson will be playing piano for the session.
Expect fireworks!

Wild Bill Davison with John Petters Dixielanders video from Harlow in 1989
Jackie and Keith were –part of the Petters Dixielanders who recorded and played the Playhouse, Harlow in 1989 with Chicago cornet star, Wild Bill Davison. (see video). Allen modelled his style on Davison whilst Tim (when playing piano) and Dave are both well versed in the Harlem stride style of the effervescent Fats.
Expect an afternoon of hot Chicago style jazz with a lot of Waller swing.
Admission £12 on the door.
